Local Motors not only uses free and open source technology to power their corporate infrastructure, they use the principles behind it to empower their company.

Each automobile produced by Local Motors is designed by, and with, users from the public community. The designs that are manufactured are released under the Creative Commons License. This means that owners of Local Motors vehicles truly own their vehicles. The owner of a Local Motors built vehicle has access to every blueprint used in the vehicles design and manufacture. No secret or proprietary information is kept from the purchaser. Local Motors is not only co-creative, it is Open Source.

Local Motors will be presenting at this years ABLEconf, as well as giving the keynote address.

The Arizona Business and Liberty Experience ( ABLEconf ) is a business-oriented Free Software conference organized by a coalition of leading Arizona Free Software businesses, consultants, and community leaders.

ABLEconf brings local Arizona business leaders and entrepreneurs together with technology companies and leading technology innovators.

ABLEconf 2011 will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at the University of Advancing Technology located in Tempe, Arizona (click for map).
