ABLEconf 2012 Keynote: "Getting Animated with Open Source"

ABLEconf UPDATE -- Mar 14, 2012

SUMMARY: ABLEconf 2012's keynote is "Getting Animated with Open Source" from Curtis Zinzilieta of Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS). Curtis will cover Open Source contributions from WDAS and the business decisions behind those contributions. The keynote represents the meld of business and technology, aligning with ABLEconf's mission.

PHOENIX -- "Getting Animated with Open Source" starts the day for ABLEconf on March 24th. Curtis Zinzilieta is a Principal Engineer at Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS). His keynote will cover Open Source contributions from WDAS. Curtis will also talk about how those contributions fit from a business perspective. A business and technology start to the day gears right into the ABLEconf perspective.

Following the keynote are presentations on topics such as Open Source ERP, Mobile Device Forensics and The Business Case for Open Source. The morning session also holds Curtis' other talk, "Discovering Performance Possibilities in Linux".

Curtis Zinzilieta continues his long, successful career in Open Source business and technology with his tenure at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Prior to joining WDAS, Curtis was Practice Executive - Linux/Open Source at Dell. He also spent many years at Red Hat, most recently as a Senior Manager for their Solutions Architecture team. With over 18 years of professional Open Source expertise, he has assisted many companies on the road to Open Source adoption.

The 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM conference is once again at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe.

ABLEconf, Arizona's premiere conference on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), offers insight on leveraging Free and Open Source tools to reduce IT costs and increase flexibility in the midst of economic uncertainty.

WHERE: ABLEConf 2012 will be held at the University of Advancing Technology (UAT) located at 2625 W Baseline Road, Tempe, AZ 85283. It is located a few blocks west of 1-10 and Baseline Road. Free parking is available in UAT's parking lot.

WHEN: Saturday, March 24th from 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM
